Re: Issues with FG 2008

Richard,
Thanks for the tip,I'll have the field crew give that a try.
The funny thing is we are running FG on two MX's with no issues, only on the Archer.

Re: TrueType Fonts??

Hi, Truetype fonts are the ones that ship with windows. They can be found in the Windows folder on your drive. Just copy them into the fonts folder in your Microsurvey folder and you should be set to go. I've used Truetype fonts in my drawings many times with no problem. If this doesn't work for you ...

Just curious, what metod of data collection are you using?
E.G. Field Genius,TDS,on board data collection?
This might help to get answers as the folks on this board use a wide variety of tools to gather field data.

Chuck,

MSCAD isn't supported on 64bit systems so you'll need to use a 32bit computer to activate your key.

Hope this helped.

Thanks Glen,

I checked out that particular article before posting but as it is a year old (and none of the problems would be a real deal breaker if I went with a Vista 64 bit ) I was wondering if anyone actually using it with version 9.2.1.6 and experienced any issues other than those mentioned.

As far as I know, you only need to do this once. I can't say for sure as I run Vista on my home computer and we use XP at work.I put 2008 on my home box a few months ago but have yet to take home the USB key to do any updates. I've been running Vista for a little over a year now and have that a few p...

Have him right click on the MsCad icon and select "run as administrator".
You only need to do this once (if this is the problem) after that the program should start normally.

Quick question, when you say you drew the lines, was this using the cad lines command (with the osnap set for points) or was this using the MsCAD Automap function? If using the cad part of the program, then the lines are not in the data base and so won't be moved with the points doing a RTS. Like Richa...
