Re: Running XP on a Vista Machine

Hey! That worked!!!! We reinstalled 2005 and the service packs in the proper order. Now it plots like it should. The wonder of it all.
Thanks again Brian. We just need a fresh approach.

Re: Running XP on a Vista Machine

Brian, Yes we have loaded SP-3 and I checked with the person who installed it and we also installed the service packs in the proper order, we think. We might try it one more time.
Thanks, Max

Running XP on a Vista Machine

We have an AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual core processor at 2.2 GHz with 3 Gig of ram running XP professional running MSCad 2005. This machine was originally setup for the Vista operating system. We had this machine for two years now. We use this machine as a file server and to run our plotter. Just recently ...

Model Tab Glich

The only problem I've had is the program will not support more than three tabs that are stable. More than three tabs and the tabs become unstable, disappear and sometimes ghost on to other tabs. Rebooting dosen't help.

I did a little research and found a solution. It seems Microsoft just wetted our appetite in XP about object link. If we are running XP we have to upgrade to XPe to edit an embedded object link. You can download the upgrade from Microsoft’s XP web site and run a 30 day trail period. Which is OK, but...

Size of Embeding File

We are still running MSCad 2005. How do you control the size of the embedded object. When ever we embed a Word or Execel two different files the second is 10 times larger then the first embedment, or the first embedded file is 10 times larger then the drawing, therefore the only way we can use it is...

Start each alignment with a different stationing so the station isn't repeated in another aligments. I am not running 2008. This works in 2005.
My cross sections are NOT plotted on top on one another.

Thanks, That is good to know.
A couple of venders are selling computers with XP, but will upgrade when Vista becomes available. However, I heard that the business Vista is available now. Oh, well what ever.

Viewports

As long as I don't move my tabs left or right I haven't lost any viewports. But after awhile if I move the tabs left or right I start losing them. I do not have a problem losing them after I rename them.

TDS Recon Downloads

We are trying out the TDS Recon data collector. When we attempt to download a file we get a parameters are incorrect error. We check the Recon and Microsurvey and they are the same. We have been downloading from a Topcon Ranger using the HP48/500/Huskey menu. The Ranger and the Recon both use Window...

Will MicroSurvey Cad2005 be able to read a .flx file directly or will the .flx files have to be converted to a .dwg file first?
