It's funny you mention this. My partner opened a file, did a saveas to create a new document. He did some work in the new file. While it was still open, I also opened it. It didn't mention that it was read only. I couldn't see any of the changes he had done from the saveas. We realized what had happ...

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I am sure it is the same file, because we were working on the file on 2 workstations side by each. He saved it, closed it, and I opened it, and the changes weren't there. The points were updated, but the linework wasn't. I know it was saved because when he cl...

Save delayed over network

Has anyone come across this? I am working on a plan with points in it. I save it, close it. Another person opens it on another computer and the changes didn't appear to save.

ACAD allows you to create it's own plotter type based on the driver. I know you can manipulate the printable area. If I use the default print driver, it cuts off the borders in ACAD as well.

Thanks anyways

Margins not working

Hi All, I know there are no margin settings, but whenever I print on any ANSI size paper, our border gets cut off. If I send it on the ARCH size (24x36 instead of 22x34) it prints fine and I can trim it down to 22x34 without losing any borders. Am I missing something? I can send it through ACAD on A...

Sorry for the delay Glen, So, there is no way to easily change a group of dims from 3 decimals to 2 decimals. I have to either change the text manually, or delete it and redo it with the correct decimal defaults Can I put a request in for a funtion like this? All our drawings deal with 3 decimal pla...

Scale X,Y,Z independently

Hi All,

Is there a command or feature that allows me to scale a drawing in the X direction only. As for Y and Z.

Re-Scale complete drawing

Hi All,

Some of my dimensions are 2 decimals and some are 3 decimals. I rescaled my drawing and now all my distances are 3 decimals. I know why, but I need to change some of the distances back to 2 decimals.

Is this possible by windowing and using some command.

Defining Basepoint for block insertion

Simple scenerio:
I have a box (1m x 1m). One corner is at 0,0,0. I save it as a.dwg

When I insert that drawing (using INSYM) I want the corner of my box (COrner that is 0,0,0) to be at my mouse crosshairs. But is is not, it is way off in no mans land. INSBASE is 0,0,0.

What am I missing?

Not sure of command or if even possible

Hi All, I have heard of talk about having 'hot tips' in cad files. I am not sure if this is the right term, but if you have a manhole in your plan, you can move your mouse over top if it and it will popup attributes about the manhole (like inverts, diameters, etc). Is this possible? Thanks Chad Of c...

Rotation w/ reference angle

Hi All,

In AutoCAD thre is a rotation command that allows you to easily match an object being rotated with another object.
[Rotate -> Reference]

Is there a similar command in Microsurvey?

Point Nodes

Hi All,

I am opening a file from another company and all the point nodes (on MSPOINTS) are a circle with a crosshair. We use just a simple dot. Where can I change this?

Program crashed - recover autosave

Hi All,

I was adding points to my linework and the program kicked me out. My autosave is on, but I cannot get back my points. Is this autosaved somewhere. (the points, not the drawing)?

Error Messages on startup

Hi All, On one of the work computers we have 2 errors during startup. The Error #'s are 45MBFGE34 & 2232DEF-KJE87. I get theses 2 errors when I open MSCAD2005 SP1.3, I click OK, then it loads to the black background screen, then displays the 2 errors again. I click OK, and then everything works fine...

It works now.

Not sure if I entered a wrong number somewhere or if the SP version conflict was the problem.

Anyways, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I am going to update it and try the take home again.

Hi All, We are running Microsurvey 2005 SP1, AutoCAD 2004 and AutoCAD 2004 InCad. I am working on a file that was created with Microsurvey, but I am using AutoCAD and InCAD to modify it.
