Re: Topo Points

Gord, I can see that using the preceding space works great for sorting but then all the space preceded codes will not plot the correct symbol. I suppose you could write a LISP routine to go in and delete all the spaces after creating the DTM but thats just more work. I still think that a well though...

Re: Topo Points

I've always used point codes to try to control this.. 2D & 3D codes.. but there is always the oddball
situation that has to be dealt with in the office. All in all sorting out points by their codes to include
in the TIN has worked well for me. I have not worked with feature codes yet..

Re: MicroSurvey 2012 release date

I have to agree TM.. let them get it stable first then send it out to us.
We have two separate entities here.. the ITC and MicroSurvey and
I don't see how MS could really finalize until the ITC finishes their end.
Carlson did an early release .. go read their forum ..

Re: Nautiz/FieldGenius & Topcon HiPer II's

Same here.. just for post processing. I just upgraded to StarNet 7 Pro so I can do GPS with TS
adjustments with that. Tie RTK control points from two different base stations then do the adjustment.
So for working good.

Re: Nautiz/FieldGenius & Topcon HiPer II's

No Bluetooth range issues but I'm always standing beside the receiver or within 15 feet. I have noticed if the receiver is jumping between Fixed and Float that sometimes the Nautiz will be slow to respond ...like it gets hung on one screen for longer than it should... maybe a bluetooth update issue ...

Re: Stakeout

Thanks Erle !

One way to deal with the Points/Lines issue would be to have a pick option to set for Points or Lines..
just giving priority to one or the other.
I very seldom want to pick a line and if I do I can pick one away from any points..

Richard.. I reported the "zoom in" issue and it has been sent to the programers
I've been using the Nautiz the last couple months and have not had a problem with
picking points.

Re: Stakeout

I very seldom have a "list" of points to stake but do use the stakeout routine to set corners. I found it cumbersome to have to create a list prior to staking a point until I discovered you could just tap a point and select the stakeout routine. I don't have trouble with the lines if I zoom in close...

Re: XYZ Coding

XYZ coding is for locating objects in the field.. your map looks like a subdivision with lot lines so I'm not sure how relevant XYZ coding would be .. however if you had a code for Lot Corner as "LC" then your coding would proceed around one five sided lot as follows.. ZLC ZLC ZLC YLC ZLC ZLC .LC Z ...

Re: Computing Area from cogo points...

Dave, I believe that MSCad will do this .. I do it all the time. I think they call it the prompt history window .. F2 I run dual monitors and always have this open on the second one along with the coord display. You can also open up the log file if you want to print it out. This example has no curve...

In the menus - Cad Tools/Options/General tab
But .. I have not used it for years as it used to be associated with crashes..

I would log your crashes with tech support and try to fix that first

Re: Preset Layout Boarders

Since this is a user's forum .. I'll just think out loud here.. and answer myself.. So I wanted a legal size sheet with 1" boarders around the left, right and bot with 1.5" at the top. I went in and edited the TBLOCK file and drew the boarder polyline at those setbacks and placed all the title text....

Paper Space novice here... It looks like when inserting a title block & boarder into a layout (Paper Space) you are limited to the preset dwg's stored in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsurvey\MSCAD\2010\design folder. Sixteen files named TBLOCK1 .. TBLOCK16. I assume you f...

Installed the new version on XP Pro and am having trouble with both the model and layout tabs disapearing from the bottom of the screen. I have five layout tabs and of couse the one model tab. Not sure what sets it off and I don't work in paper space too often but plan to add many more layout tabs w...

Richard,

I have noticed that sometimes when creating a point it is locked.
Never figured when and why it does that. I will have to pay more
attention as see if its related to previously used numbers.. ?

Re: change symbols

If the symbols were placed using a code .. just change the symbol for that code..

If you want to change the default for an "uncoded" point .. go to Drawing Settings,
Entity Creation & change the setting for "Points" .. then just do a Regen..

Brian, I just loaded up the new version last week and I have been after them to add this placement feature since 2005.. its great and enables me to not have all the point numbers clustered on top of each other when multiple points are the same or nearly so. That works great for this also by setting ...

Awesome !! I wish Ron the best in whatever is next and hope the product continues to improve. I purchased Star*Net back in '94 or '95 and have been a loyal user ever since .. I use it on every job I do.. large and small. It is a great product and I'm glad to see it under the Microsurvey banner. Steven
