Since I've received no reply here, I've transferred this to the help desk.

AUTOMAP file to DC from CAD 2010, not 2014

Odd problem that I cannot solve. I created a new AUTOMAP within CAD 2010, saving it with a unique name. I now want to transfer it to my Nautiz X7. Complicating this, apparently, is that I recently installed 2014. Microsurvey's file transfer application defaults to 2014 and will not find the AUTOMAP ...

Glenn,
I agree with all the previous comments. Stone walls, please! Here in Massachusetts we're in the same boat as everyone else in New England.

Adobe Acrobat 6 compatibility

Adobe has just announced the coming release of Acrobat 6. The break through aspect of the new release is that it will allow 'AutoCAD' users to print PDF files of their drawings for easy client use (many municipalities are beginning to require PDFs now as well). The PDF files will allow layer manipul...

Ontario training a great success!

Thanks to Jason, the recent Ontario 2-day training went well. Thanks! Many great tips, short cuts & illuminations. Anyone who has a chance to attend one of these is advised to go. Extremely helpful, even if you are familiar with the software. A great success!

Shifting FG from one computer to a new one

Mark, I just switched computers & had to go through the usual process of decommissioning the old computer & generating a new number on the new computer when I installed CAD2002. I haven't ported FieldGenius over yet--luckily no pressing field work. Do I need to go through a similar procedure? Can I ...

Jason, re: the Niagara Falls course, is everyone going to be working from a common CD, or will we build survey files as we go through the course? Seems to make sense perhaps to have a pre-built survey file that you're familiar with...

Any other preparation we should go through beforehand?

Adverse possession

Silly discussion. Adverse possession varies from state to state in terms of when it ripens, & what criteria determine conditions. The seven years Tim refers to in Georgia is 20 years in Massachusetts, and 10 years in Rhode Island. 0.05 feet can be damned important if you run across it when surveying...

ACSM Membership?

I belonged to ACSM for many years up until about 1990, then dropped membership because so much of the organization became too academically oriented. Anyone out there who's a member & finds ACSM relevent?? Thanks--
