Re: Surface Area

If you draw your surface using 3dfaces, then you can run the command SAREA and select the 3dfaces to use in your calculation. This will give you the surface area for your surface within the 3dfaces you selected.

Cheers,
Glen

As has been mentioned, as of September 2009, I have moved on to a new job at the City of North Bay here in Ontario. I am a Engineering Technician Level 1 (highest level) in the Engineering Drafting Department. I enjoyed the 13 plus years working at MicroSurvey Software and will miss the many long ti...

IntelliCAD 7 is still in development. I am not sure when it will finally be released. The next version of MicroSurvey CAD will be built on it - I have no idea when that will be available either of course. As the time grows nearer, I am sure info will be posted, as appropriate.

Before you pick or run the save command, try freezing the layer(s) the images are on first. I would turn Autosave off as well, so it does not trigger when you have the layer(s) thawed.

In MicroSurvey CAD you can enter in horizontal alignments without a surface but in order for a vertical alignment to be entered, the program must have a surface to sample to generate the existing profile upon which a new design vertical profile can be entered. I am sorry, there is no other way in th...

The wildcard * will tell it to ignore anything after the * is seen. So it will only match characters up to the * and not after. You can not tell it to look at 200d4 and ignore the d but still use the 200 and 4. If you had an example like MAPLE200d4 then in Brians example you could have a code in Aut...

Carlson is using a point block method of controlling what is displayed - we do not. If you want to control layers then the elevations need to be split up onto their own layers. So if you want the layer TREE showing, then you would also show the layer TREE-ELEV (or whatever the layer is called). Our ...

You can autoadd the points to an exploded tin if you wish. They would be added to the ends of whatever line segments you select. However, that really is going to only duplicate the points that the tin was originally created from. Unless maybe you do not have the original points for this tin, in this...

We are not aware of any issues with Batch COGO, but if you can give us a series of keystrokes that you can get to not work correctly, please do. This way we can examine this and if it is a bug, try and get it fixed ASAP for the next version.

- If you truley need a grid of points generated for the "." surface generated from the volume command - I would always copy the "." surface to a new name first. - Then make a new layer and set it current. - The run the GRD (grid) command and Draw the Dots. You can set the traverse points so they are protected via the Active Coordinate Editor - then recoordinate the traverse file with the side shots in it. The traverse shots will remain unchanged and the sideshots will be based upon those fixed traverse locations.

It depends upon which method of entry you are using. If you use the Active Traverse Editor or the command line, then you should be able to enter a negative turned angle. The dialog box method did not have this option.
