Re: MicroSurvey 2012 release date

The article also states that 600 bugs and problems have been fixed since the 7.1 release. 600! I, for one, have the patience to wait for those to be fixed and not the patience to deal with them myself while under the gun to finish a drawing. Several years ago, Microsurvey introduced a new version, i...

Editing topo points and contours

The initial editing of points and generation of contours has been no problem but, now I find myself with a large topography (2000+ pts) and, after thinking that the drawing was finished, I find that certain points need to be removed from the DTM and others need to be added. I'm not finding in the he...

Re: Entity snap question

I feel your pain. When you invoke a snap the command window will indicate what command is active. Let's take end point snap. Your's may say '_endpoint. If it does, the comma at the beginning is the problem. If the comma is removed to read _endpoint, then it will be a one time snap function only. Thi...

Re: line codes

There are about three programs to do what you ask though they may be different than what you're used to. The easiest one is connecting points with XYZ coding.

I have also noticed that if I change the description of one of the points at the end of the arc that the same "reversal" of the arc occurs.

Hello Ian, good to hear from you. I hope things are well in CA. I have the automap set so that a particular shape will invoke a particular layer when drawing MSCAD lines. Its great because the layer will change from point to point depending on the description of the point - no matter what layer the ...

AutoMap Editing System

MSCAD 2008 V08.01.02 Under the heading "Line Work Layer Options", I have the option of "color". If I leave this blank then the color will be whatever color is set in the ICAD Explorer-layers, but if I change this in AutoMap, this change should supercede the color set in Explorer. This does not happe...

MSCAD 2008 curve problems

I do not seem to be able to label a curve in a CW direction. I use the COGO routine to draw the curve and enter those points in a CW direction and the curve is drawn correctly, but the curve table will show a CCW direction. A left click will invoke the CAD Curve Computations box and will show connec...

Same problem

Has anybody had a chance to investigate this any further? I may need to mention that I'm using Windows 2000 Pro. I think that Icad must be loading a file outside of the main folders that are easily eliminated.

Thanks Glen, I moved the toolbars as outlined on page ten of the document and it worked fine but, now I am missing the last two icons(?) from the upper right portion of the screen that read "window" and "help". How can I get these back?

Move some files from 2005 to 2008?

What is the name and location of the file in ICAD 2005 that holds the customized tool bar configurations that I have created and can it be imported into 2008? Also, what is the name and location of the file that holds the MSCAD configurations that I have set in 2005 and can they be imported into 200...

Zoom extents problem

All of a sudden all drawings that I open or create will not zoom extents properly. The drawing used to fill my entire drawing area but now it will only fill about 2/3 of the area. The zoom window command is the same way. What setting is chosen that I need to un-choose?

Coordinating traverse problems

1) I'm using an SMI version 7 data collector and MSCAD 2005 SP1. After coordinating the .RAW file I calculate traverse closure using the closed loop procedure - in this case it was 1':11,000 - 0.51' linear error. I then do an angle adjustment. After this I have a closure of 1':99,000 with 0.05' line...

Esnaps and zoom window

When windowing around something, sometimes I will try to snap to the end point of a line or the intersection of two lines. The first pick will do this but the second pick will not honor the Esnap setting. This is particularly frustrating when trying to print/plot a specific area. I was hoping that S...

Arc direction - spacing a quadrant

It seems that ICAD will only draw a counter-clock-wise arc and thus the quadrant is labeled in that direction. I try to label boundaries clock-wise I find myself editing these quads. In the bearing defaults I have the option for the number of spaces after the quad; if I choose anything other then "0...

When setting up the Auto Map options for a description I have the option to place the description, point number, elevation, and node on the layer of my choice. There is also the option for CLR. This option, if changed to a color other than the default color set in the layers list, does not change (p...

I think that I have noticed that the line type shown in the properties tool bar is directly related to how far you are zoomed out of or into the drawing itself - the closer you zoom into the drawing, the more apparent the dashes will appear in the properties toolbar. I posed my ESNAP question on an ICAD message board that I frequent and was informed that if I push "shift" and then right click, that the ESNAPs from that menu will allow a snap for one click only.
