Idea

Hi Ted – I think you have a good idea and if monitored correctly it can be controlled so it does not get to be a grievance area. If ANYONE has any suggestions about how to improve the program in any way – please send them, right a way to mark.budgen@microsurvey.com Starting January 2/03, the develop...

Default Point Layers

Anytime you import points from an ASCII file, data collector file, calculate COGO points, etc., the points being brought in are automatically placed on the default layers, as setup in the Labeling defaults. The only exception to this is points with descriptions setup in AutoMAP, assuming that the Au...

LAND XML

Thank you,

The programmers will be looking at the standard, now that it has been ratified (which I had not realized had been done), and see what options they can build into the program, in the future.

Layer Name Change

You are able to export the layer names but there is no way to simply import them again after any editing was done. As you mentioned, you can edit each layer name one at a time. We have also supplied a Mass Layer conversion tool, found under the MicroSurvey menu -> Layer Control -> Mass Layer Convers...

Row Header

It appears that the Row Header option is currently not active for printout purposes. You can change the color of the Row Header (in the preferences), and it is reflected on the ADT screen for the left row (where we have the black arrow to show the current row being worked on, etc.). But the printout...

If you type the command UNDO at the command prompt, you have 6 options to pick from. Under control you have another 5 choices. Land XML

MSCAD does not yet have this option due to the fact that the standard is not yet a standard and is still evolving. Once it has been finalized and is stable, we will be looking at it carefully and seeing what can be done then.

DR-48

When downloading the DR-48 in MSCAD, when it asks you for the file name, it shows you the default of where the file is neing saved. You need to add to that line, the name of the file with an extension. C:\SAMPLES\010101.msj\ would be an example that you would see - then you add the job name (number)...

No Z scaling

Sorry about the original post - I miss understood the full story. The CAD Scale command is a full 3D scale utility. It will not assist you. The SCALEZ command may help but as you mentioned it may also hang up on something of this size. What may help (and does work as I just tested it here with a TIN...

Scaling in X and Y only

As Richard mentioned, when picking the Base Point to scale about, make sure that the Z=0. This way the Z will not be scaled on any of the entities. The simple way is to type in the base point of 0,0,0 rather than attempting to pick a point on screen. Cheers, PS - sorry made a boo boo - it does scale...

Actually - MapScenes has it's own webboard on the MapScenes website. Go to the Support option and pick on Forum. Then you can enter in any MapScenes related questions that you desire.

LISP Loading

You could also edit the f5i_stup.lsp file (an autostart file) to add in the command to load the desired lisp file(s). It can be found in the MSCAD2002\COMMON folder and can be edited using Wordpad. Be careful to follow the formatting used to make sure you load your file(s) correctly.

Limits OFF

Try setting the Limits to OFF in a template drawing. Then when you start a new job and use that template drawing the limits will default to off. The DWG file should then have the limits off as well by default.

There are a couple of technical notes on this web site that do talk about AutoMAP as well as a couple of movies that show some of the basics of AutoMAP. The tech notes can be found under the Support Page. A movie is under the Stock Pile Volume Calculations, it does not show every option but does sho...

Please feel free to call us as it may be something simple we can help you with. If the reinstall you are doing does not help then we need to work our way through this systematically. We may have you uninstall the program, remove the folder for the program and then do a clean reinstall. We are happy ...

True Type Fonts

Not sure what is happening Vincent. I just tried it here and mine did work, as do most of your installations. It might be something to do with that copy of the true type font. Even though other programs can read it, there may still be a minor problem with it. Have you tried reloading the font? Is it...

As Mark mentioned, you can use the ZOOMP command to recenter on your drawing. Then use the Zoom Out option to slowly backup from the drawing. If you get to the point where you know the entire drawing is on the screen and you know that nothing should be beyond this, then we can try and remove whateve...

:I may get spanked by Glen, but I recall that the "Transfer Password" program is an anachronism from the DOS version of Microsurvey and does not work. If so, why is it still in the menu? Good question. :It stumped me for quite a while. Call Microsurvey with the key number (or better yet, fax it in),...

Target Height

It might be easier to edit the raw data file that was downloaded from the instrument, to change the rod height. The target height is used on every shot so it would need to be edited on every shot in MSCAD. With the raw file, you can edit it in Wordpad and then do a search and replace on a set of uni...
