User Defined Grid Systems

Post by southcraven » Mon Aug 22, 2011 6:48 pm

In V7 the user configurable Grid system is missing. But even in V6 we were unable to input the correct transformation parameters, as we require a 7 parameter transform (dX, dY, dZ, rX, rY, rZ, Scale Factor) from WGS84 to our Krassovsky/Pulkovo TM projected system.

But in fact our survey areas are then divided in to unique site grids, which are plane (ground or true) systems, as such we could fit GPS vectors directly to our local coordinates, but Star*Net only allows the selection of Grid, is there anyway around this?

Hi, V7 has the same customizable coordinate system capabilities that V6 does, by editing the StarNet.cus file with a text editor, it is found in either
Windows 7/Vista: C:\ProgramData\MicroSurvey\StarNet\V7\StarNet.cus
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MicroSurvey\StarNet\V7\StarNet.cus
Where are you located? I believe our Russian dealer (see http://www.microsurvey.ru) has defined Krassovsky and Pulkovo grid zones in the StarNet.cus file using Traverse Mercator transformation.
