Road Staking: Where is store point button?

Post by Ned Ferguson » Wed Jul 19, 2006 5:32 am

When staking a road alignment, the manual indicates that, after hitting the "stake offset" button, a "store point" button should be available. There is no "store point" button. I cannot figure out how to store points for a cut sheet. Thanks.

The Store Point button is in the bottom-left corner of the screen, below the Cut/Fill or Elevation data. Please ensure that your Start menu and taskbar is not covering it up, if your taskbar is visible then click Start > Settings > Taskbar and Start Menu, and turn on the Auto-hide option.

I am using v 2.0.4 on the Allegro. After selecting the "stake offset" button, I get the following icons below the cut/fill data at the lower left corner - reading from left to right:

1. A circle with an "I" - Information button
2. A stake icon inside a magnifying glass - this gives staking details.
3. A cross-section icon
4. A "gear" icon (staking settings)
5. A big "x" icon

The manual indicates that the second button from the left should be "store pnt." It is not there.

My task bar is not visible, this should not be the problem.

If you are using GPS, then this Store Point button will not be there on the staking toolbar. With GPS, click the Measure button to trigger a shot, and then on the GPS Measurement screen after it goes through its countdown and checks the masks, you can Store Point on this screen.
