Recon FG2008 v4.01 - CompactFlash Card changes ID

Post by BobKrohn » Wed Jul 20, 2011 3:39 pm

Recon unit

Inserting a CompactFlash Memory Card changes ID of unit so that program unlock code won't work.
Don't absolutely need the card installed but is there a reason for this?

Had a shock. Took card out and everything OK.

We use different components in your data collector to generate a unique id that is associated with you password. If we find a CF card, we will use the serial number from it to generate a unique machine id.

The work around is to keep the same card in the unit and ask for a new password.

OK, I understand. Thanks for reply.
Not really necessary for me to have the card installed.
I can always just put it in, copy files via the OS, take it out.
Was just experimenting really.
