drawing lines by direction

looking for command to draw line by direction ie. bearing and distance from a given point...

CADLines, CADCurves

The easiest way to get the command up is to simply pick on any line in the drawing - the CADLines dialog should come up (this is with GRIPS turned off). If you turn the Add Lines to Coordinate Database toggle on then it will coordinate as you go, off and it simply draws lines with no coordinates. If you then pick on the Traverse button, you will be asked to pick a starting point then another dialog comes up. Follow the prompts to enter the data. Nice simple entry from here. Many other options in CADLines as well.

Yup COGO can be used to calculate a new point and optionally draw a line at the same time. Just another of many options that will work. I like CADLines for simple drafting without requiring a database.
