PLOT 'TEXT LINEWEIGHTS'

Post by Richard Sands » Sat Oct 14, 2006 9:32 pm

Is it possible to get more width or 'lineweight' into text in 2005? I seem to remember someone asking this but couldn't find it anywhere. I'd like to beef up the printed text to make it appear bolder. I could do that with ttf's but am working in standard MDCAD provided fonts.
This is possible in 2004 but doesnt seem supported in 2005.
regards Richard

Hi Richard, yes you should be able to do this. You can entprop (modify>properties) your text, and assign a lineweight to it. I just tested this with both the MSURVEY.SHX and TXT.SHX and they both worked fine. If the lineweight isn't being shown, go into Settings > Drawing Settings > Display > Change Settings for: Lineweights, and make sure Display Lineweights is turned on.

Of course the line weight can also be set when plotting, based upon the colour of the text and what line weight you have set for that colour. The same way we do for lines, etc.

S'pose it helps to have the right settings - thanks. I'm not sure what was going on. Works OK now!!
