Cleaning up the hard drive

Postby Michael Sprouffske » Wed Apr 23, 2003 2:10 pm

I have MSCAD2002 installed. I have a folder on the hard drive titled "MSCAD2001." Can I delete this entire folder without affecting the operation of MSCAD2002?

MSCAD2001

We would recommend that you actually Uninstall the MSCAD2001 version instead of simply erasing it. This helps keep the register a little cleaner.

Once you have uninstalled the program you could then erase the folder and anything left in it (and there will be a few old configuration files, etc.).

Uninstalling MSCAD2001 will not affect MSCAD2002, or any other program for that matter, unless you have set the 2002 version to use some of the symbols in 2001. (even though you normally wouldn't).

Clean up

1. MSCAD2001 won't uninstall. The uninstall is missing.
2. The folder for MSCAD 2001 583 MB in size; MSCAD2002 3.45 MB.
3. The 2001 folder list movies as a sub-folder, 2002 doesn't
4. How should I proceed?

Cleanup

I would simply erase the MSCAD2001 folder and all it's contents.

MSCAD2002 does not install the movies to the hard drive automatically, you would have had to tell it to do so during the installation.
