Georeferenced JPEGs still not working ...

Postby Matthew Fore » Thu May 15, 2008 1:26 pm

Installed latest patch. JPEG world files still not shown in drop down menu list. Only TIFF world files are allowed. Only way to allow them to work is to manually change jpeg world file extension to a tiff world file extension.

MrSiD files still not supported.

MVSETUP still doesn't work.

Everything else seems to run fine and we like.

We have at the very least 4 more seats which we would love to run MS on. One I would need by next week. Until we can at least handle images as well as we do with our old MAP3, have MRSID capability, and run paper/model like we do on MAP3(R14) then I'm sorry but I'm having to tell the boss that we just can't purchase anymore at this time. I even looked at the possibility of purchasing the latest Autocad w/Raster Design and MSinCAD but looking at the forums that looks like a deadend as well.

Matthew have you actually been able to get tiff's (geotiff's) to import.
My patch seems to have made things worse with them. The program just freezes and I have to force it to shut using Windows. (XP Pro)
Just curious?

Can import geotiff files with their associated world files with the latest patch. Imaging seems to run smoother than before and the image doesn't vanish if you zoom in too closely as before. Can import geo-referenced jpegs as well but I have to rename the world file extension to the tiff world file extension to "fool" MS into bringing it in.

We need MVSETUP to set the correct scale in the viewports unless someone knows another work around other than doing it by eye.

We have a command on the View menu to let you set the viewport scale. Scale Layout Viewport - then pick the non-active viewport to scale - it will show the current scale on the command line and allow you to enter in the correct desired scale for that viewport. works like a charm!

Sweet. Thanks Mr. Cameron. Now if we could get the imaging like we need we'd buy another seat today and the rest probably within the year.
