AutoCAD Multileader

Postby jlooyestein » Wed Feb 11, 2009 10:41 am

Hi,
I have a client who uses Civil 3D 2008 and has multileaders in his drawings. Mutileaders are not showing in MSCAD2009 (v9.216). Any settings or work arounds for this?
Thanks

Check to see if the command PROXYSHOW is set to 1. If they are proxy entities, they should show up when it is set to 1 (which is the default).

If they are not proxy entities, then I would like to get a copy of the drawing to examine. Maybe these multileaders you are mentioning are some new sort of entity, as I do not recall something called this in AutoCAD. Maybe they are something unique in the Civil 3D program.

Please feel free to email me the DWG to [email protected] so I can examine it.

Thank you for sending the files and directing me to the RAR program you used.

When I open the DWG file in both MicroSurvey CAD 2009 and the newer IntelliCAD Beta 6.6, I get the following messages on the command line.

"This drawing contains one or more proxy entities that are not editable.
These entities WILL be stored and saved back to the drawing.
This drawing contains one or more A2K-specific entities that will not display.
These entities WILL be stored and saved back to the drawing."

Being the Proxyshow variable is set to 1, the entities not being displayed are not proxies. This tells me they are unsupported A2K-specific entities.

So I used a copy of DWG TrueView 2009 to save it to an older AutoCAD version to see what would happen. I actually tried saving it back to AutoCAD 2004, 2000 and even R14 - but none of those versions did anything to help us see the missing multileaders with associated mtext.

My conclusion is that we do not support those type of entities. If you can find a way to explode them or convert them to something using simple CAD entities, then we may be able to read them in.

Thanks for the quick reply Glen. Did you add this to a "wish list" with the IntelliCAD people? Be nice if it was included in MSCAD2010.

Thanks
