DXF files from MSCAD

Postby Glenn Deegan » Wed Jul 16, 2003 3:41 am

I have recently discovered a problem with DXF files created in MSCAD2002.
When these files are opened in other CAD packages (ie AutoCAD or TurboCAD) they do not replicate the original FLX or DWG files as saved in MSCAD.
It appears that the coordinates of the line ends are being rounded to the nearest metre thus corrupting both the line length and bearing.
I asked Richard Sands to verify this on his computer and he is experiencing the same problem.
Can you please invesigate this phenomina?

There is a simple fix for this.

Type in the following command DXFPREC and when asked for a new values (your default is probably 0), set it equal to 6 or 8. This specifies the number of decimal places to use when sending out a DXF file.
