MS 2014, Will my 2010 lisp routines work

Post by Donb » Tue Nov 12, 2013 6:20 am

AS MS 2014 is now released has anyone had ther opportunity to use their lisp routines from 2010 in it and are there any problems doing so?

We just finished considerable lisp programming for 2010 and it all works great including an installer package for 2013 and 2010. Our package doesn't work on 2012 embedded CAD so thats
why I am curious. If the 2010/2013 package can migrate over to 2014 we would like to upgrade but if it doesn't why bother.

Thanks,

Don

Hi Don,

MSCAD 2014 and MSCAD 2013 SP2 use the same IntelliCAD 7.2c engine, so as long as your lisp routines work properly in 2013 then you won't have any problem with them in 2014.
MSCAD 2010 used an older IntelliCAD 6.6 engine, but the differences between it and 2013/2014 are pretty minimal - mainly it now supports a few more visual-lisp functions than before.
embeddedCAD, as you've experienced, is not expandable with any lisp functionality - this is due to licensing restrictions in our OEM agreement with Autodesk.

MSCAD 2014 is nearing the end of beta testing, and you'll be able to download a demo of it next week - it should work great with your lisp routines!
