TDS File Import

Postby jwall » Wed Feb 19, 2014 5:27 pm

Hello, having recently started using MSCAD 2014 after using an older version for a number of years I'm wondering if there is a setting somewhere that I can't find for a couple of things with TDS File Import:

1. When importing a *.rw5 file in MSCAD 2002, there was a dialog box that prompted a yes/no to "Store Coordinates found in Raw File?". I am not seeing this option in 2014, is it still there somewhere or was it removed?

2. Minor thing, but by default the TDS File Import looks for *.raw files every time and requires a manual toggle to *.rw5 in order to display the *.rw5 files in the current folder. Is there a setting somewhere that sets *.rw5 to default selection?

Thanks

A workaround using a Python script in Notepad++

Code: Select all
editor.pyreplace(r"^SP.*", "")
editor.pyreplace(r"^\r\n", "", 0, Editor.INCLUDELINEENDINGS)
curFile = notepad.getCurrentFilename()
newFile = curFile.replace(".rw5", ".raw")
notepad.saveAs(newFile)
notepad.close()

This script:
- replaces all lines beginning with "SP" (the 'store point' coordinates) with blank lines
- removes all blank lines
- does a "Save As" to rename to *.raw from *.rw5
- closes the file

Still not ideal because it require opening each file with Notepad++ and running the script but sure beats manually editing.
