how to get point number hint back in 2016

Postby Stephen_P » Tue Mar 22, 2016 2:30 pm

2014/2015 has a great feature that a point number always shows up by its node. It really helps when preparing a topographical plan. It doesn't happen in 2016. Are there any toggles or settings I am missing?

Thanks,

Steven

Hi Steven,
It sounds like you are describing the Independent Point Numbers feature.
Just type IPN at the command line, or use the IPN button on the MsPoints ribbon/menu or the MsIPN toolbar to toggle it on/off.

Hi Brian,

Is there a way to turn off independent elevation feature as the drawing looks so crowded with point number and elevation features? and there is another strange issue. When I drag text by the grip, I have to move the text three times. the first time the text slides to right after I release the mouse, second time text to the left. It never happened to the previous version. Thanks for help,

Steven

IPN shortcuts toggle the attributes as follows.
IPN - Point number
IPD - Description
IPE - elevation

Re other, sounds like you have Ortho turned ON.
Try an F8 toggle.
