Using MSCad on a network

Post by Ron Mak » Wed Mar 17, 2004 5:09 am

I notice that after installing MSCad, the File Locking feature was not checked. This is the same as with 2002, and we found that more than one user could open a file at a time, which usually corrupted the file - sometimes beyond repair. So if you are working on projects stored on a network drive, make sure you go to the File Menu, Configure, and check File Locking under the Common tab.

Good advice! The install does not ask or check to see if you are working on a network or a stand alone system. So you do need to set your system up correctly for the environment you work in, and make any changes to the setup, you require.
