Autosave a drawing backup

Post by Scott Partridge » Thu Oct 07, 2004 2:02 pm

We often work with drawing files over a network. I'm looking for an idea to save a copy of the drawing to another folder as an emergency backup, for example, to a BackUpJobs folder on my local hard drive. This drawing would be updated automatically everytime the autosave function ran, or when a manual save was executed.

Backups

I do not know of a way to do this inside MSCAD but you could probably create a simple batch file to do this whenever you decide to run it. Not automated of course, but it may provide the end result you require.

As I thought. Might this be a wishlist item?

Ideally - an option to write a backup of the drawing to another folder everytime autosave ran and when a manual save was performed.

Wish List

Anything new is always a wish list item! :)

No idea if/when it will be added to the program as it will have to be examined by the development team to see how useful it would be to the masses!
