3D Lines

Glen ....
I lost something and can't find a one set aproach to fix the problem. I need to draw a range of lines ..... pt 2345 to 2375 but I need 3D lines not 2D. I know in auto map somewhere there is a setting I am looking for ...please helpand thanks in advance.

I am not Glen, but hope this helps.

The range of points that you want to join with a 3D line will have to have the same description.

Just go to the Automap Library. You can edit or start a new description of
the points you want to join. Just pick join lines and then pick 3d lines.

Then just process the Automap Connections.

NO ........ I had MS2004 set to draw 3D line without going to auto map ... different descriptions ...... Point number was the controlling factor not the descriptions .......

If you are thinking of a routine to draw 3D linework based upon point numbers only - then it is a two step procedure.

1) You can use the command, MsTools menu -> Lines -> Lines by Inversing (dot to Dot). This permits you to enter a point number range to join with lines. They will be 2D lines.

2) You can convert any inversed line from 2D to 3D by going to the MsTools menu -> Lines -> Convert 2D Lines to 3D. Then window all of the lines inversed by the routine in step one - or via COGO - and they will be converted to 3D lines.
