SAVE AS

Post by Richard Sands » Thu Jun 09, 2005 12:51 pm

What happens when an MSCAD2005 dwg is saved as an earlier version of AutoCad and one continues to work on it and saves?
Does it revert back to 2005?
thanks
Richard

You can set your default file format by right clicking on the command line area, then about half way down the first screen there is a line to set which format you save in.

SAVE AS

Post by Richard Sands » Thu Jun 09, 2005 7:48 pm

Thanks Vince. My query is directed to a job in MSCAD2005 ver 2004 that a client may want in eg ver 2000. If I 'Save As' AutoCad 2000 then reopen same drawing in future, do some work on it etc, does the subsequent saved drawings stay as 2000 or revert to 2004 version?
Regards
Richard

From what I can see - if I run the saveas command and choose R12 DWG format - if I exit and reopen the DWG, then run the QSAVE command, it does seem to maintain the older R12 DWG format. If I run the SAVE command it will attempt to do a save using the default 2004 format.
