lines on differnt layers

How do I Create lines on differnt layers and with the same 2 points

EG: layer1 red line between pt 1 and 2
and them on layer2 blue line between 1 and 2

Our database only permits 1 line (or 1 curve) being inversed between any two points.

To have 2 lines between a set of two points, one would have to be manually drawn with the line command and using object snaps.

Either that or once a line is inversed, you would have to remove it from the database, then you could inverse a second line.
