Cross section/ Profile

Post by IVANJ » Tue Sep 07, 2010 12:15 pm

Hi all,

I reciently did a topo for a client and created a dwg with contours for them using microsurvey 2010 of an area 200m x 200m. My question is, the client now wants a cross section of the property ( more like a profile i guess ) of the exsisting ground, is there a way for me to create this with my exsisting surface? I am having trouble and any help would be great,

thanks,

Ivan

Create a line(s) across your model (area) making sure you stay inside the model (surface).
Make your natural surface current (or whatever surface you want to profile).
Then run Drape ( _DRAPE) chosing the line(s) created and then Flatten (_MSFlatten).
You can chose a grid or no grid.

These lines can be any direction.
If your line does run outside the surface it will draw from zero elevation, but you can easily edit the section (profile) and remove the offending bit.
