Writing DWG Files

Post by Wes Mossing » Thu Mar 20, 2003 8:52 am

I had an Autocad user just inform me of the problems that he gets when opening any drawings that I create for him. Other than the shape file problem, which is easily fixed, it comes up with an error reading: Invalid 2d polylines present in drawing. 3d vertex present in 2d polyline and also the same thing inverted. Is there an easy fix for this?

DWG issue

The issue stems from contours in the drawing (and it may be only smoothed contours). The only solution I have at present time is to have you save the drawing to AutoCAD R12 DWG format. All newer versions of AutoCAD can read R12 format DWG files, so you should be ok. Some other items may not go across perfectly, eg. Mtext was not in R12 so it will be converted to normal text.
