FG2007 Stake out

Post by Ed Gasbarre » Wed Nov 08, 2006 4:52 am

Is there a way to prevent the screen from rotating when doing a point stakeout? To me this is very confusing. For an entire project north is forward on the data collector screen, now for some reason we twist our orientation just to perform a stakeout.

Please help me understand the logic behind rotating the view.

Thanks, Ed :?

Under "Staking Settings" set the Staking Reference to "North".

The reason we do this is so your map screen matches the user's prespective. If you have your Staking Reference set to "Prism", then what will happen when you stake a point is that the screen will be rotated to match what you see from the instrument.

There is no way to disable this, this feature has been in FieldGenius since FG 2004.
