spiral curves

Post by Michael N. Sprouffske, Sr » Wed Mar 14, 2007 12:47 pm

I need to enter highway centerline data from a r/w plan. There are spiral curves in said c/l. What function, pulldown, icon do I invoke?

The only routine that we have that uses spirals is the AutoRoute routine under the MsDesign menu. It is based upon the centerline being created from PI to PI then you edit the appropriate PI to insert a Spiral-Curve-Spiral combination, as required.

Thank you, Glen. I sorta figured that was the solution, but being inherently lazy, I was looking for an easy out.

spiral

If I type spiral into the help index, it shows a dialog box I can't seem to find.
Can you tell me where to find it?

Thx!

As mentioned above,
The only routine that we have that uses spirals is the AutoRoute routine under the MsDesign menu. It is based upon the centerline being created from PI to PI then you edit the appropriate PI to insert a Spiral-Curve-Spiral combination, as required.
The dialog you are seeing is found in the AutoRoute routine at the point when editing a horizontal alignment, when you can insert a SCS element.
