Problems - import ascii points

Post by ycamus » Fri Jun 22, 2007 1:20 pm

Hi,

A client sent me his files. I can import his text file with Ptnumber, Easting, Northing and Elevation ok. The points get stored in the .msd database and points show ok on the drawing.

He does exactly the same thing with the same files and points are not stored in the .msd and do not appear right on the drawing (blue points but no white crosses - no elevation, pntnumber, description). It has worked ok in the past...

Does anyone have a clue?

Thanks!

Problems - import ascii points

Hi,
Have him go into MStools-->Microsurvey System Toggles.Make sure the auto add database box is checked in the general settings. Then go to the cad drawing controls tab and make sure the boxes for draw point numbers, descriptions, elevations and nodes are checked.
Also,in the import points dialoge, have him check that he has the proper settings (e.g. comma delimited,pt.number, north, east etc.) set to match the file he is trying to import.
Hpe this helps.

OK! Finally it was fixed by activating the toggle "Store coordinates in COGO database" when choosing the format of the ascii file...

Thanks!
