Mtext in '08

Post by Edward Gasbarre » Wed Oct 08, 2008 4:44 am

I would like to paste paragraph text created in Microsoft Word (or Notepad or Wordpad) onto the .dwg. Apparently I am missing something regarding the procedure.
Here is mine.

1) Copy selected text to clipboard in MSWord.

2) In the already open .dwg I type Mtext and follow prompts to create text window.

3) With cursor flashing in the text window I press Ctrl+V.

4) Watch nothing change.

Remember how simple this procedure was in the '02 version?

Pasting notes onto survey drawings is commonplace so I'm certain there are users out there who can help me.

Thanks,
Ed

Problem: If you paste text from your clipboard into the MTEXT dialog, nothing appears in the drawing or dialog. But, if you switch your background to white you will then see the text.

Solution: After pressing Ctrl-V to paste the text into the MTEXT dialog, press Ctrl-A to highlight All text, then set the color to white (even though it already says it is white). This will be fixed in a future update.
