3D Mesh / Surface

Post by grafter » Wed Nov 12, 2008 7:12 am

Is there a simple way of producing a 3D Mesh / Surface from a model created from surveyed data / contour model?

From the Modelling palette or Menu select Create Tin and follow the prompts.
You can draw 3D Faces (and others).
Just be sure to create and set to, a new layer for the results.

There are some movies and tutorials in the help file and getting started manual, that help show the steps required to extract survey data to a surface as data and breaklines. Once they are extracted to a surface, you can then run one of the TIN, TGRD or GRD commands to generate the surface in your drawing.
For a TIN or TGRD it can be drawn as Lines/3dFaces/Polyface.
For a GRD it can be drawn as Dots/3dFaces/Polyface/Mesh
