Drawing Curves in MSCAD

Postby Bars92 » Mon Jan 09, 2012 2:59 pm

Hello folks, I have a few questions about calculating and drawing curves in MSCAD 2009.
I have been working in land surveying for two years and have drafted a tonne of plans in regular CAD, but am still a novice on the MSCAD side of things and am just starting a new job where I will be using Microsurvey as well.

The field data I receive has all of the beginning and ending points of the curve and I have previous plans that give me arc, chord and radius information about the given curve. I have been drawing circles at either end of the curve, using the radius information, in order to establish a radius point.
The problem I'm having is that using COGO to draw the arc, Microsurvey always wants to calculate the EC and this produces a much shorter curve than what I need. Is it possible to calculate by giving the program the BC and EC?

Thanks in advance :)

try using an offset line-line intersect from the incomming and outgoing tangents to establish the radius point. Your curve may not be tangential on both ends.
