MSCAD 2013 UPDATE?

Postby Richard Sands » Tue Nov 20, 2012 4:09 pm

As I am sure others are here also, just wondering if there is some light on when we can see a fix for many of the issues we are experiencing with 2013.

Feedback for the users would be appreciated thanks.

regards
Richard

IMNSHO it would have been better to leave the thread in place (OR MicroSurvey could've started their own FEEDBACK thread) and as people found/discovered answers/fixes to issues/questions/concerns, it would be in a place where everyone could find it.

Hi,

The ITC (IntelliCAD Technology Consortium) is currently finishing their upcoming IntelliCAD 7.2a engine, and we will start integrating that into MSCAD 2013 for a service pack as soon as it is available. For this update they have been concentrating almost entirely on bug fixes rather than new features, and it has 700+ bug fixes since the release of IntelliCAD 7.2 (MSCAD 2013). The only new IntelliCAD feature is support for opening .dwg files from AutoCAD 2013.

I see that 7.2a has been released December 28,2012. There has been at least 1550 fixes, probably more, since the release of 7.0. Despite the fact that Darcy technically won the bet that the Microsurevy release would be before my birthday (8/22/2012), how many folks are actually using 2013.....or not? Which reiterates my question: WHAT ARE WE REALLY GETTING?? I can appreciate the Intellicad alternative to Autocad. However, someone needs to kick this thing in the a$$ and get better results than we have observed. To be sure, the performance of Intellicad is not the responsibility of Darcy Detlor. It is the responsibility of the members. The observed level of performance is not impressive! Members of the Intellicad consortium really need to get an attitude.

Hi, Yes we have the IntelliCAD 7.2a release code and we are currently migrating MSCAD from 7.2 to 7.2a for an upcoming service pack. From what I've seen so far, it is going to be a very good update with a ton of fixes for issues that have been reported both by MicroSurvey and other IntelliCAD member companies.

I just finished running (yesterday) a 4 day MSCAD 2013 training session, at the head office, and we were using a Beta version of the next patch. It was pretty good. Not sure how long it will be until it is released, but it was pretty stable (except on my XP machine which had almost no hard drive space available.)

Cheers,
Glen

It's now well over 7 months since the release of 2013 based on intellicad 7.2. And three months since the release of intellicad 7.2a. Does it make you wonder?

Intellicad 7.2b has been released (May 1). With this release over 2000 fixes and improvements have been made since the 7.0 beta version (March, 2011). And there is no hint of a 64 bit version. So far I've stayed with 2010. At least I know where the bugs are.

So far I've done the same thing.

I've been having issues with 2013 on a brand new Windows XP SP3 machine.
