Calculate distance with scale factor

Postby fvidania » Thu May 23, 2013 12:06 pm

Hello everybody,
I'm trying to get the distance between two points with the scale factor on, but when I click on the dist icon, or type "dist" in the command line and pick both points, I get the ground distance and I want the grid distance with the Scale factor applied on it.

Is that possible to do it without use COGO.

the only solution I found is drawing a line between the points, turn off the grips and click on the line and it says the scaled distance, but I don't want to draw any extra lines in my drawings.

Can someone help me, pleasE?
thanks

Hi,

The pure CAD commands (like DIST for example) don't tap into the Output Scale Factor toggle. I think the quickest way to get a scaled distance is what you already found, to draw a temporary line between the two points, and click on it to see the CAD Lines dialog.

The Output Scale Factor toggle only affects the following commands (as documented in the "Input and Output Scale Factor Toggles" help topic):
  • COGO
  • Right of Way Design
  • Perpendicular Ties
  • Fast Area
  • Area by Point Numbers
  • CAD Lines Dialog
  • CAD Curves Dialog
  • Stakeout Report
  • Raw File Report
  • 3 Point Inverse Dialog
  • COGO Inverse
