problem with Target Manager for ver 6.0.6.6

Post by Cheng » Mon Nov 11, 2013 3:37 pm

Hi Jason,
I found a bug for FG2012 (6.0.6.6 and newer). When choosing FS or BS prism type from Leica Prism list in Target Manager, after taking a shot, the prism constant in Leica Total Station will be unexpectly changed. When I did test, I pre-set prism constant inside the Leica TS as 0.0mm, then Leica 360 Prism type was selected in FG, after shooting, the prism constant inside the TS was changed from 0.0mm to 3000mm. Choosing different Leica Prism type could lead this change up to 7000mm.

Hello Cheng,

Thank you for the post.

What total station are you using and what is the Leica firmware of the total station?

We have a Leica TS15 here and within the Leica Viva firmware (ver 4.60), it is impossible to edit a Leica prism and offset. What steps did you follow to be able to edit a Leica default prism? We designed the Target Manager around the fact that these can not be altered.

Hi John,

The TS I tested is old, TCA1800.

Hello Cheng,

Yes, that is an older instrument. I suspect you are using the GSI driver for that one. Since that is such an old instrument, very little Target Manager testing was done using it. We may need to put a warning on our website that the Target Manager may not be fully supported using those older instruments.

Thank you very much, again, for the feedback.
