AUTOMAP file to DC from CAD 2010, not 2014

Postby pcgarner » Tue May 20, 2014 1:06 pm

Odd problem that I cannot solve. I created a new AUTOMAP within CAD 2010, saving it with a unique name. I now want to transfer it to my Nautiz X7. Complicating this, apparently, is that I recently installed 2014.

Microsurvey's file transfer application defaults to 2014 and will not find the AUTOMAP file I created in 2010. I know this should be a simple issue of finding the .csv file I want and, perhaps, then dragging it into the appropriate 2014 folder. But I cannot find where it's installed (& have spent far too much time in Windows Explorer w/o success).

Any help would be appreciated!

Since I've received no reply here, I've transferred this to the help desk.

You can save the AutoMap file to anywhere you want. (probably know that)
I save the file to default location then save as and pick where I want it to go. (my Job folder)
Then just drag it into the FG folder on my data recorder.

When you do a Save As, it will show you the default location. Take a note of that and create a shortcut to that folder.
I have that for some of my MsCad files that are in obscure places.
Saves time looking all over the place as you discovered.
on my Win 7 Pro, 64 bit MsCad 2014 it's here C:\ProgramData\MicroSurvey\MSCAD\2014\mscad
2010 stored here: C:\ProgramData\MicroSurvey\MSCAD\2010\mscad
Paste that into Explorer and it takes you there.
