Using FG to do reflectorless shooting

Post by cheng » Wed Sep 17, 2003 2:46 pm

I found that

(1) when I use reflectorless shooting, sometimes FG can accept the keyed-in target height (non-zero) (FG's default is zero in both SS or S+ mode ), sometimes it doesn't. I don't know WHY.

(2) When I use FG to switch between IR to RL rather than using Total Station's button, it seems FG will change my gun's prism const to the value which I don't expect.

Hello,

1) When in reflectorless mode, FieldGenius is supposed to only use a zero target height. If you check you raw file you should see that a zero TH is being used to calculate the elevation.

If you have found an area in the program that allows you to change the height, please let us know.

2) We do not set the prism constant on the intruments. Most instruments will have a different constant when switching back and forth from reflectorless and conventional measurements. What type of instrument are you using? Again call our tech. support line and explain to them what is happening.

in reflectorless mode, target height can be changed using S+

in reflectorless mode, both SS and S+ using zero as default target height,
but I found that it could be changed (non-zero value) when using S+ .
(in SS mode, it can't be changed)
