MicroSurvey RPN Calculator

FieldGenius 2006 includes a new RPN Calculator, similar to what many of you may have used before on your HP48’s.  There is no need to carry a second calculator in the field with you, everything you could want is now at your fingertips right inside FieldGenius.

The new calculator makes converting linear measurements a breeze.  To convert a value from meters to feet, just type in the number such as 123.456, then press the METER button, then press the FEET button to convert it. 

Just as easily, convert angular measurements between Degrees, Radians, and Gradians, or convert between Degrees/Minutes/Seconds and Decimal Degrees.  To convert 23°19’49” to decimal degrees just punch in 23.1949, then press the DMS-> button.

You can easily add or subtract DMS angles, convert between Polar and Rectangular notation, and perform just about any advanced (or basic!) math functions you may need.

FieldGenius 2006’s new extended numeric fields let you launch the calculator right from any numeric field — after you have calculated your value, you can press Use to automatically copy the calculated value back into that field.

After working with the calculator in FieldGenius, we decided that this is such a handy program that the whole world should be able to use it for free.  So, you can download the MicroSurvey Calculator, absolutely free — from www.microsurvey.com/calc.  This is a great tool to use in conjunction with MSCAD or any other program.  If your friends or coworkers like it, they can download a copy for themselves - you do not need to be a MicroSurvey customer to use it!
