Q) I accidentally picked a line while
not in a command and this dialogue box came up. It has everything
I need to know about the line but I don't understand where
it came from?
A) What you have found is a feature called CAD Lines and CAD
Curves. With no command active, if you pick a line or a curve,
we automatically display a dialogue box with all the data
on the line or curve. You have options of doing calculations
right from here rather than going to any menus. You can also
switch between lines and arcs. You even have the choice to
coordinate all new lines and arcs or simply to draw them.
This gives you quite a bit of power at your mouse pick, without
even running a command. There are System Toggles to turn these
features off in case you find a need to. You may also pick
normal text to edit the text or pick on part of a survey point
to edit the data about that point, by simply using the mouse.
