Q) FieldGenius is not communicating with my total station. What should I try?

Answer - The first thing to do is confirm that the communications settings in your instrument match those in FieldGenius. When you select your total station from our drop list, note the "Settings" listed near the bottom of the dialog.

Confirm that the values listed (In the example shown: baud rate=9600, parity = None, Data bits = 8, stop bits = 1) match those in your instrument. Refer to the Total Station Reference section in the FieldGenius User Guide, or your instrument's manual for details on confirming these settings. Once these Settings have been confirmed, Confirm your instrument cable is securely connected and then try Total Station Basics from the Instrument menu to see if communication can be established.
