FieldGenius is constantly updated by MicroSurvey's programming team. Our new XG 2.0 version is a huge update that covers many areas of the program.

Important Note: if you are using MicroSurvey CAD 2002, MicroSurvey Express 2002, or inCAD for either R14 or R2000-2002, you MUST install a service pack in order to read the new FieldGenius XG 2.0 data files.  Select the links above to install these service packs.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are upgrading from FieldGenius 1.0, please read the information below on that describes the FieldGenius. The directory structure on the data collector has changed. See below for more information on how to upgrade from 1.0 to XG.

Important notes:

If you are upgrading from FieldGenius 1.0 to FieldGenius XG:

• Once the new version is installed, use your desktop Windows Explorer (while connected to CE device) to copy the following items into the new installation location:
  • Copy customized AutoMAP libraries (.csv files) from \Field Genius\FG Projects into \MicroSurvey FieldGenius\FG Projects
  • Copy ongoing projects folders from \Field Genius\FG Projects into \MicroSurvey FieldGenius\ FG Projects
  • The file FGDC.lic from \Field Genius\Programs into \MicroSurvey FieldGenius\Programs

Features added in FieldGeniusXG 1.5:

• Import CAD DXF file for background viewing. The DXF Import supports Nodes, Lines, Arcs, Polylines, Text, Blocks, Inserts and 3D Faces. See Import under the File menu
• View Filter - Layers concept but Point Description based to provide ability to toggle on/off display of points and features. Look for the Layer icon right of the Description list.
• View Filter – CAD DXF Layer visibility control. In the View Filter, note the DXF tab that will appear when a DXF has been loaded.
• Heads Up Display option on main interface
  • Available when in a measuring mode providing:
    • Last Observation
    • Next Point ID
    • Current Target Height
  • Available in Info mode providing
