FieldGenius XG2 Update Dates:
Update October 26th: 2.0.61
- GPS tracking speed is improved.
All GPS users will see a definite performance increase over
the last (2.0.60) update.
- Non-integer values entered in the invert
edit field would cause a program lock.
- The Stake Line program was unavailable
if you owned the Basic Module. This program was supposed
to be included.
Update September 12th: 2.0.60
- DXF Import - even better display of objects
- DXF objects can now be selected for staking.
If you select a single object, it pops up a Smart Menu to
allow for single entity coordination, or you can select
entities within a window. All selected entities are automatically
coordinated and added to the database.
- Lines and arcs are added to the figures
database, so you can stake them right away
- DXF export - Now you can export your linework
in a DXF file for import into most CAD programs.
- MicroSurvey Feature File Editor - now included
when you install the ActiveSync and Desktop support module.
The Feature File Editor will open and use TDS .fea files,
so you can start with an existing system and extend it further.
- GIS attributes can be saved on all points.
With this update, FieldGenius now has the ability to export
ArcView SHP files directly from the data collector. The
File -> Export menu now includes 'SHP Files'. FieldGenius
automatically creates the index files for you, and since
we moved to a .dbf format for our main coordinate database,
SHP file support was an obvious and easy extension to the
program.
- The FBK export program has been improved
to export the entire coordinate database.
- The program now creates a Staking List.
This allows you to select points on the screen and add them
to a stake list. When you start the Staking program, you
can advance automatically through the list of points. The
Project Manager now displays the staking list for editing
and checking.
Update August 12th: 2.0.57
- DXF Import improved - new objects are displayed
and DXF files are automatically reloaded when you open a
job file
- DXF lines, arcs, points, polylines, and
block inserts can now be selected and automatically coordinated
either by single selection or by selecting with a window
- Licensing improved - now the same Pocket
PC version will run on iPAQ 3600/3700/3800/3900/5400/2210/2215
versions, plus Dell Axiom or other Pocket PC's that have
a Compact Flash slot. We now license based upon the
CF serial number.
- Multiple Views - views can now be stored
and recalled from the Project Manager
- Last View Restored - the screen view is
saved when you exit a job and restored automatically when
you reload the job
- Improvements to Smart Menus - small improvements
make the Smart Menus easier to use
- Total Station instrument options are displayed
automatically when you first select a model
- GPS fixes - new antennas added to the database,
small changes to make dialogs fit better, transformation
improvements for special cases
