Before Installing |
Before installing MicroSurvey inCAD 2006, please read the following tips.
Installing from CD |
Installing from a CD is easy. Just insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive and the install process will begin. You will see a startup screen that will allow you to select the install for your AutoCAD® version.
Installing from the Web |
Optionally, you can download an install directly from the MicroSurvey website. Once the install is downloaded, you can run it directly from your computer.
Upgrading inCAD |
MicroSurvey inCAD 2006 installs in the same directory as previous versions of inCAD. This means you have to uninstall your older copy of inCAD before installing the new version.
Also you will need to delete the old inCAD menus from your AutoCAD Support directory. For example, for AutoCAD® R2006, if you browse to C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2006\Support you will see some files that start with "ms_acad...” Delete these before installing inCAD 2006.
After installing inCAD 2006, you can confirm that you have the correct menus loaded if you see "Help inCAD 2006" in the MsTools menu.
Starting inCAD |
MicroSurvey inCAD 2006 is designed in such a way that if you startup your AutoCAD® program using the AutoCAD® shortcuts, it will startup without loading inCAD.
To load AutoCAD plus inCAD 2006, you need to use our program shortcut. This can be done one of two ways, either but using the inCAD 2006 shortcut on your desktop or by browsing to it from the Start Menu | Programs | MicroSurvey | MicroSurvey inCAD folder.
Register inCAD |
MicroSurvey inCAD will run for 30 days from the time it is installed. Upon start up, you will see a Register button that will allow you to fill in your company information, and create a form that can be faxed or emailed to our office. Once we receive your registration request, and confirm that you are registering a valid purchased copy, MicroSurvey will fax or email you back your activation code.
MicroSurvey inCAD has two versions available, either Standard or Premium. Based on the version you purchased, the activation code that is sent to you will activate inCAD as a Standard or Premium version.
Support Paths |
MicroSurvey inCAD will attempt to setup the support paths that inCAD needs to run correctly during the initial install. If for some reason you need to set these up again, you can run a special utility located in the Start | Programs | MicroSurvey | inCAD folder called Setup inCAD Support Paths. This program will setup the support paths for inCAD.
